New Castle and the Area

Off the coast of Portsmouth, New Castle is New Hampshire’s smallest, easternmost town comprised entirely of islands. A quiet coastal town of just 968 residents, New Castle offers historic sites, lighthouses, beaches and outdoor activities within the serenity of a small New England village. We're just a scenic, five-minute drive to lively downtown Portsmouth — with extensive shopping, nightlife, entertainment and over fifty renowned restaurants.

Directly across the banks of the Piscataqua river you will find yourself in Maine’s southernmost town of Kittery. A ten-minute drive from New Castle, this seaside town is full of eclectic boutiques, art galleries, and hip restaurants. Fresh-caught Maine lobster is a must during your visit!

Directly to our south you will find numerous state parks, outdoor activities and beaches twelve minutes away in historic Rye.
